Meet Frogger

We teamed up with Motion Hatch to bring their new membership brand, Creative & Coin, to life. At the center was Frogger, a business-savvy frog designed to guide creatives through their “quests.”

With a fresh logo, a quirky character, and a snappy animated sting, we gave the community a vibrant world they could step into.

The Challenge + The Idea

Creative Coin, a brand under Motion Hatch, wanted a campaign that felt fun, engaging, and completely unexpected. They needed more than a logo, they needed a world. A playful, character-driven universe that brought Creative Coin’s identity to life in an imaginative, memorable way.

By creating this world, the brand expands beyond a visual identity into a limitless ecosystem of possibilities. It offers a clear metaphor that grows alongside its audience, inspiring them to explore, create, and discover their own gifts.

Design Exploration

We approached the logo design process as an open exploration: sketching, testing, and refining ideas to uncover the visual essence of the brand. Each iteration helped us better understand its tone and personality.

By experimenting with different typographic structures, icon compositions, and color systems, we arrived at a logo that feels distinct, adaptable, and emotionally aligned with the brand story.

We crafted the final styleframes to define the look and feel of the motion piece. Each frame was built with animation in mind: structured layouts, defined pacing, and clear hierarchy. This visual system became the foundation for the animation stage, ensuring consistency and expressive storytelling.

Character Design

When designing characters like Frogger, the process starts with clarity and personality. Begin by ensuring the silhouette reads instantly, even at small sizes, and define the shape language. We keep in mind an expression grid that captures the full emotional range, from anticipation to joy, and establish a color palette that reinforces character mood and gameplay readability.

From there, think in motion: identify pivot points and separate layers for rigging so the character animates naturally. Build a concise set of animation keys, such as anticipation, launch, flight, and landing, this helps define motion personality.

When creating and animating custom coins or “level-up” items, think of them as tiny characters with purpose and emotion. Start by defining what they represent. Fun, and rarity then design simple, readable shapes that feel balanced and instantly recognizable. Add depth with clean vector shading, subtle highlights, and a touch of glow or sparkle to make them feel valuable.

In animation, give them life through quick bounces, spins, or bursts that emphasize anticipation and reward. Keep loops short and satisfying, with clear motion cues for idle, collect, and reward states. The goal is to make every coin or item feel alive, collectible, and rewarding to interact with.
